The On-Board Charger (OBC) is a power conversion device installed in electric vehicles (EVs) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). It converts external alternating current (AC) into the direct current (DC) required to charge the vehicle's battery. The OBC performs AC/DC conversion, voltage and current regulation, charge management, and provides protection mechanisms.
